Argentina are having a few upsets in the run-up to the World Cup in Qatar. So far they have already had to change two players in their squad.
Lionel Scaloni has had to replace Joaquin Correa and Nico Gonzalez, who withdrew due to injuries. Taking their place are Angel Correa and Thiago Almada, and the latter revealed that he was informed of the news while at the dentist.
“I was at the dentist and they called me. ‘You’re going to the World Cup’. It was an immense joy, I’m ready to contribute whatever it takes,” said Almada.
Atletico Madrid‘s Correa, who was part of the 2021 Copa America-winning side, will be in the final squad to replace one of the injured duo.
Cristian Romero and Papu Gomez are progressing with their injuries, as is Leo Messi, who did not train on Friday.
